1948????? OMG, I thought he was a Verne contemporary!

Okay, and here's my embarrassing confession of the day: I looked for more by that author, and was sadly disappointed not to find any. But then I remembered that Heinlein wrote for kids and grownups, so maybe other people did too! Upstairs to the grownup section of the library I went! And then I was disappointed all over again to discover that W.E.B. Du Bois wrote books that did not feature Krakatoa at all.

Dubois (not W.E.B.! Funny!) did write other books, but yeah, I guess they didn't stand the test of time and make it into our libraries.

Don't feel alone. In THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE I thought Lewis had run out of ideas and was ripping off Christianity.
