That happens to me a lot. I kind of wonder if there's some kind of trickery going on in my brain where I get that "wow what a great, satisfying, exciting story" feeling when there's nothing there but the usual dream images and dream logic. My dreams are often filled with emotion, like reading a good book, but in the light of day, the events of the dream aren't that exciting, or even describable. I'll never know, of course. Maybe I am writing brilliant stories in my sleep and forgetting them by sunrise. *sigh*

So often dreams don't hold up to scrutiny, plot-wise? But at the same time, I remember kind of evaluating the dream throughout for holes in logic. While I was the main character (who I knew immediately upon waking wouldn't be the RIGHT main character), I was also me, the writer. It was... weirdly fun.
