Whenever I change or up my exercise, I tend to gain weight, at least for a little while. I suspect it has to do with increased water retention, mostly, so I don't fuss about it.
Exercising every day is definitely easier than exercising three days or every other day. I wish I could find a schedule that would let me do it, but it's impossible. All of my healthy and careful eating for over a month has let me lose one pound. So frustrating.
Speaking as somebody who is making much the same journey, I found that measuring my body was a better indicator of muscle gains than weight loss. YMMV, etc.
Doing just about anything every day or almost every day is easier than three times a week or every other day or whatever. I read some article about this recently, and I know it's true for me.
Raw chard or cooked? I don't think I've ever had it raw, but cooked doesn't sound like a salad.
