One thing about this reading that I could really relate with was the feeling of wanting things to be familiar, or how I mistakenly called it : "normal." Hi Merrill:

What a great story! No, you're not a sophomore in HS just wanted to eat a cheeseburger any longer. You are deliberately learning more about the process of cultural adjustment and are fortunate enought to be able to reflect on experiences you've had to illuminate the reading.

Isn't it nice when you realize that as much as you miss things from home, it only distracts you from all of the wonderful opportunities and experiences that you are encountering? By the way....did you try the calamari while you were in Spain? I've heard it is phenomenal....
