Study Abroad Project Ideas

So far, I haven't thought too much in detail about my study abroad project. I know that overall, I really want to go to Latin America. My ideal location would be Ecuador and I know that through Chris and CIMAS, I can do that at Evergreen. I'm glad that someone else doesn't have a completely clear idea of what they want to do while traveling abroad. I have a few ideas and several strong interests, but i'm not completely decided. I haven't read that much latin literature, what would you suggest?

My favorite author in the entire world is Gabriel Garcia Marquez. He's a magical realism author and absolutely amazing. You should definitely try him - he's got some short stories if you prefer that, but also two novels I would recommend are 100 Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera. Also, Carlos Fuentes, Pablo Neruda, Jorge Luis Borges, and Che Guevara are all really great Latin American writers.
