We saw the pope splashed all over tv last night, but we couldn't tell why. I had a dream last night that Dr. Ivy (who was suddenly in Italy for some random reason) told me ( Read more... )

We're arriving on Thursday, but I don't think we'll get in until the afternoon. Maybe we'll see you in the train station. I thought the funeral wasn't until 9 days after he died, though. (Or maybe that is 9 days. I've lost track here.)

Anyway, I'm not sure what time we'll be there. But if you know what time you're leaving, reply to this or send an email, and if the next hostel we're staying at has internet I'll check and get back to you.

You too!

Climb the Duomo. The stairs are crazy, but the view is good. The leather is really expensive, and so is the gelato. But there's a good gelatari right by Ponte Vecchio. Palazzo Pitti has a really nice garden if you get tired of looking at art and stuff. There's a really good place with bagel sandwiches near San Lorenzo. There's a corner across from the Duomo and Baptistry that has two ATMs; at that corner you walk left (under some raised train tracks, I think) and then take the first right. It should be straight from there. It's called Cafe Anna, and it's just past San Lorenzo on the right. Really nice people, good and cheap food, and cheap(er) internet. (And if I'm wrong on the directions, Sarah might see at some point and correct me.)
