My boss's dad died today, about an hour after I got to work. I was there when she got the call. One of the older ladies was sympathizing; she'd lost both her parents too. I haven't lost anyone that close to me yet. Even the thought of losing one of my parents is enough to make me cry, so I'm pretty much hopeless when it comes to grief or

And I'm sorry to hear about your dog. Rachel, our first dog, had a similar cancer, and while we couldn't do anything like chemo/surgery for her (too expensive) except for supportive care, she managed to live a few more years than the vet's had predicted.

And thanks. He's doing ok so far; he's still acting normally, playing, eating like a pig. But the lump looks like it's gotten bigger even in the couple weeks since I first noticed it. But I think as long as he's happy and he wants to live, he'll be able to resist it some.
