Rant about stupid people and fun under the cut!
I am so tired of people who are "over" having fucking fun. What, are you too good to enjoy yourself now? Are you too intelligent and pretentious for some damn mindless smiling, laughing and general merry-making? I don't care where you went to school, how many degrees you have, you are never too good for a little bit of fun. Whether that's popping to dubstep or grinding to remixed Carly Rae Jepson or head-banging to some damn Motorhead, I don't care. Just don't act like you'd rather not be there. Why did you pay the cover if you don't want to be here, then? God. It makes you look like such an asshole.
I'm sorry, I've just had several "friends" on facebook post really similar shit lately about how they went out with their friends, but didn't want to be there and were so "over it." Then fucking don't go out! Stay home! Get new friends! Don't tell me about it on facebook, because I could give a fuck.
Okay, sorry, rant over.
I really liked Being Flynn. It was a super good movie, really heavy, kind of Requiem For A Dream-y, but not quite THAT dark, and the ending is very redemptive, if not necessarily fairy-tale-happy.
Rock of Ages was boring and pointless. The only parts i liked involved Russell Brand, which were few and far between. I actually turned it off because I was so not into it. Ugh. It tried really hard, it just wasn't for me. Or maybe I wasn't in the mood. I don't know.
This Means War was super cute! Reese Witherspoon was light and fluffy, but had a bit of depth (liking classic rock and 80's hip hop, collecting Camaros, a kick-ass job as a product tester, etc) and Chris Pine and Tom Hardy were FANTASTIC as the agents they were. It was like, RomCom with SPLOSIONS! I recommend it.
The new Steel Magnolias was okaaay, but it felt very rushed and I didn't connect to the characters AT ALL. Also, I'm kind of not cool with character death in all cases. In a movie/series involving war or about assassins, then okay, character death makes SENSE. But, when it feels like a cheap move used only to get the audience to feel something for these under-developed characters where they wouldn't have otherwise? Not cool. I never saw the original, so I can't compare them, but the new one just felt weird and rush and under-acted/under-developed.
I'm gonna watch either (or both!) Drag Me To Hell or The Loved Ones tonight. I'll let y'all know how they are.
Teen Wolf is so trashy teen drama, but so GOOD and ADDICTING. I loves it.
I might also watch Dexter. We shall see. I have up through season 5, so I guess I'll have to torrent or google season 6 so I can be caught up to watch season 7, which already premiered. That show. That damn show. So good.
