I remember how we used to catch butterflies together when the weather was good. You loved just staring at them flying around. Once you told me you want to be a butterfly and move freely in the air.
“Hyukjae! You’ll see that someday I will turn into a beautiful butterfly and will land on your window while you sleep. I will watch you, protect you from the evil spirits and will sing you songs for you. And when you wake up I will go away and watch you from a distance how you play under the sun. But I won’t dare to come closer because you will catch me and I won’t be able to protect you anymore. So for now I will be satisfied with just watching you from afar, watch you smile and hear you laugh. And when you’re ready I will take a step forward and show you I was always there for you. Please don’t forget what I’m saying right now and please don’t be scared from me because I won’t be able to move on without you.” I can still see your dorky smile and I’m glad I was too stupid to understand you back then.
Three years after you told me this you confessed your feelings to me while we were laying on the practice room tired from dancing. At first I confused to believe your words. We didn’t talk for a week.. Actually I was running away and ignoring you while you chased me and beged me to listen to you.
Thank you for not giving up on me, thank you for giving your all to make me talk to you again, thank you for making me yours. When you screamed at me your feelings for a second time I finally hear you clearly and I found the feelings sleeping deep inside me. We started going out and now that we both knew what we’re feeling and what we want we could find more and more things to do together. Our first kiss was while you were walking me home and we both wanted to do something like this so much that it lasted for 5 minutes or more.
After two months you come at me all happy with a piece of paper in your hands.
“SME called me!!! They choosed me for a newbie group debuting in three months!!” you hug me but for some reason I’m not as happy as you are. Our dream was to debut under one group and sing, dance and do everything together. Just being on the same stage together was enough for us. Our separation was really hard for me and even thought you told me nothing will change it did change. We were barely seeing each other and when we did you talked only about how cool are your group members. Our relationship was already over even when you don’t say it but it’s okay as long as you’re happy.
But now that you can be on stage I see you as a butterfly dancing freely in the air and singing with angelic voice making everyone feel good. Now it’s my turn to be your butterfly which will watch you from afar and will protect you. It’s my turn to make a step forward you so please... Wait for me.
