Thats such a shame Jo, I am going to Shell Island this year for our annual Halloween/Bonfire Night camping trip, and we have no trouble there. Last year, we only had two or three trick or treaters and they were all under 6, with mummy waiting at the bottom of the steps and they were more scared of us than we were of their pumpkin costumes!
I love Halloween, it's a chance to get silly! I think its one thing the Americans do well (and I don't say that very often) but when people use it as a chance to terrorise neighbourhoods and generally cause havoc - that really bugs me. Hope the rest of the season goes without event for you.
I didn't say I don't like Halloween entirely. I'm really looking forward to going to the party. I just think that a dispersal order should be brought in - across the whole country - to deal with the shits who think that it's okay to terrorise people over the holiday period. If it's done with respect and parents at the end of the drive then that's fine. Just teenagers should be banned!
Eek... bet you're glad you'll be up in lovely Leeds for the Halloween weekend... Maybe have a word with or put a sign up somewhere in your flat that other residents can see to say that as a single woman living alone you'd appreciate if people didn't let trick or treaters into your building...
