Anyone who currently lives in Atlanta:

I really want to attend the Gold Crown Literary Society Convention that will be held from June 7 - 10th (especially since my book's been nominated for a couple awards!). The biggest thing holding me back at the moment is the ridiculous cost of the hotel... Most of them are about $150 - $200 a night. X.x ( Read more... )

I would recommend that you put your request here: GCLS Con Yahoo Group. and here: GCLS Chat. The Con group is for, obviously Con discussions; the Chat group is for off-topic conversations.

NOT to be confused with the main GCLS Yahoo list, which is a serious writing/reading discussion group with no off-topic discussion allowed.

You do NOT have to be a GCLS member to join the GCLS Con Yahoo group; but must be a member for either of the other two groups.

I know there are generally quite a few people who look into sharing rooms for the convention. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

If all goes well, then we'll see you at the convention!

Um... any idea on how one might become a member of GCLS? Because I've scoured the website and do not see any sort of membership application anywhere. O.o

Are you going to this website: GCLS Website? Because many people confuse the Yahoo Group with the actual Organization. On that page, there is a "join GCLS" button. That button takes you to the application. There is a $10 annual membership fee that can be paid via PayPal, or snail mail. It will tell you how.

Aww, thank you anyway! I appreciate it. :)

holy crap!! that's how much the hotel costs!???

I'd like to do the gclscon as well, but YEESH! I still have to find out if the missus can swing it.

...did i mention...yeesh!
