I agree completely. I will read & enjoy a book with a not happy ending IF and only IF I know ahead of time it's not going to be happy ever after. That way I can put myself into the right frame of mind for reading it. (i.e. Sarah Water's "Affinity"...I was prewarned, so I enjoyed the story)
