tourista ecclesia

So…I’ve been crushing something terrible on Orthodoxy lately, and want to go visit a Vespers service at one of the churches in Portland. Unfortunately it’s a drive, about 75 miles one way, and so it’s not something one can do all that spontaneously!

Here are the ones I’m most interested in attending:

Holy Trinity is the Greek orthodox cathedral, and as an added bonus, some of the litury is in Koine Greek according to the website!

St. George is an Antiochian Orthodox parish. Some of the liturgy is in Arabic.

This is an OCA parish. I’ve been to the OCA cathedral in Seattle before with one of my co-workers who went there. This church would be fun to visit because it appears to be a beautiful old cabin in a meadow! However, many of the women are wearing scarves in other photos…I would wear a skirt to visit but I would feel really awkward wearing a scarf. I know that's silly.

Poll Where should Betsy go to vespers??In other news, we're moving into our own apartment! We get the keys Monday. I had planned to work on packing this weekend, but it was a pretty exhausting week and I will need to take a nap when I go home (I'm at work right now).
