I suppose one bright side to being distracted these last nine months is that I get to reminisce over some amazing events that have occurred during that time. This includes Meatfest, our annual autumn gathering of the Four Horsemen and our closest friends to celebrate our carnivorous appetites in excess. I typically present the menu in order of ( Read more... )

Wow! Everything looks so tasty! But how do you eat all that? Do you eat for like 12 hours straight and only eat mini portions? So yummY!

Major pacing, definitely. Everything is meant to be "tapas" style in the sense that it is small-ish portions. Eat at your own risk. Be mocked if you keel over by 5pm. =P

Daaaaang. That is indeed an epic feast!

I'm tempted to say the cider may have just taken the edge off the chorizo flavor a little bit, it seems like the change might be damn near undetectable except in direct comparison with the untreated chorizo.

Yeah, you're probably right. But why take the edge off of an amazing sausage to begin with? It doesn't matter anyway, we were having more issues with the fact the attendees responsible for the two lame dishes than the lame dishes themselves.

hoooooly crap, you made peking duck. i've always wanted to try, but having two dogs in the house makes this task next to impossible.

i think i just creamed my pants going through all this food porn.

i'm a little bit curious about the bacon ice cream though....

I guarantee that the bacon ice cream is probably going to be easier to make than the peking duck. It's really kind of like a subtle vanilla/maple syrupy ice cream with a hint of salt in the background. Quite tasty.

And in my opinion, the peking duck was a failure. But nobody at Meatfest had it before, so everyone loved it anyway. Next time - air compressor. =P

Yea... so, I'm completely smitten with the person who made the chili. 12 meats... I bow to you.

Nothing remotely close to Deathmatch folks, but we hold our own considering we're just a couple of schmucks who simply love food. I'll pass the compliments on to Ben, Uke!
