wow. I'm actually kinda elated I went this far back on flist, this is seriously profound stuff, methinks, as in it-never-occurred-to-me-and-thus-it-is-the-stuff-genius-is-made-of profound.

I agree, it always seemed to me like the Lois/Superman thing was way inferior to the Lois/Clark thing if for no other reason than because she actually knew Clark and the very reason why Superman was so interested in her was because of Clark. Oddly enough, this is the very root of my love/hate relationship with Lois, whom otherwise is one of my most fav characters out there btw, she's so ambivalent when it comes to Clark and comes across as so weak to me when with Superman, but I only think this way because I know the truth about the dual identity and so I do wonder, would I react the same way were I in that position? This is what I like about her.

That said, my relationship with Clark/Superman is mostly one of hate-annoyance occasionally interspersed with some bouts of pure and shiny love.

I must agree with that. You're not the only one. It's almost as if the strong, brave Lois we know is just a front, you know? Because whenever she's around Superman she goes all mushy and let's him embrace her in a protective way she lets no one else do. You can only see her vulnerability when she's around Superman.

I'm not a big fan of Smallville. I think the scripts are seriously lacking of everything, for example, Supernatural has. But the one thing I do like is that, apparently by what I've been able to see here and there, Lois seems to be falling for Clark (after 4 seasons... finally!)... and Superman hasn't even make it to the picture! So I like she's falling for him and not some heroic image... I'm not sure if that last part was clear enough... *frowns*
