I'm back on LJ after some weeks. Had a busy period of work, but now am looking at a full seven months without it. City Opera, once good for 6 months of work, has downsized so much, it's now only a piddling part-time job. Looking at the job market at my age is, quite simply, daunting. I'm sorry to hear you're in the crosshairs, too. Hope you're able to keep your job!

*big hugs to you* Yes, it is daunting. And the work available tends to want your soul on a plate. I've had very little work so far this year, but it does seem to be picking up now. One problem as far as self-confidence goes is that the older you get, the more you realise how much you don't know. Youth has the confidence of ignorance... :D So don't do yourself down... think of all you can do, rather than what you maybe can't.

Thanks, elenya! You're so right about realizing all I don't know, or that I'm very rusty at, like teaching. They say that you should do whatever it is that scares you, and that's just what I have to do. Ah well, onward!

Oh dear! I was afraid this might happen. Best of luck, sweets. You can do it! Hey, if two cats can get along, you can do anything.

Thanks, hon! I just bathed both of the cats (due to a ringworm emergency) and now feel that I CAN achieve anything! :D
