It's called extra credit. Also, the exams are weighted more heavily. I've seen worse pull through with a Hail Mary.

Unfortunately. Not that I don't admire sitting back and being surprised when the bloke next to me who hasn't been in class for two weeks randomly decides to show up and then begs me for my notes.
