How Fluffy Was My Kitten's Tail

How fluffy was my kitten's tail;
How soft her furry mane.
How gossamer her patterned back--
How other cats seem plain.
And though no man shall know her soul
And likely nor shall I,
I shall pet her; she shall purr,
As forward the years go
