Because maybe I should make a habit of him hitting on women that are actually men.causeblockedJune 1 2010, 03:33:52 UTC
[Isamu is out for a casual walk, because keeping active at this point is important. He's thinking of maybe even stopping by the item shop when he's done, if only because his talk with Usopp made him curious.
He catches sight of the 'woman' in passing and stops. While there were plenty of others here that were apparently from Japan, he didn't run into too many this... cultured. The teen changed direction, following the woman down the street.]
Great. There's a couple eating places down that way. [He points to the end of the road.] One's just a bar, really, but the other one's a restaurant too. Might be some decent places to sit. We could even grab something to eat while we're there, if you wanted.
I'm very grateful for your kindness, Isamu-san. [He bows slightly again, then smiles and waits for him to lead the way. A man always walks ahead of a woman, after all.]
[Isamu grins back and does so, heading toward the Seventh Heaven. Once there, he finds the two of them a table and pulls out a chair for her before sitting down himself.]
So I guess now we see how much I remember from my Japanese history classes, huh?
ffffff I cause trouble D8 we can handwave if you want!meshninjaJune 3 2010, 05:56:05 UTC
[The thought that they lost leaves Susumu speechless for a long moment. It's true that dissension between the two main factions made life difficult for all of them, and between Okita's failing health, Yamanami's seppuku, and fallen morale, no one was particularly confident, but... surely the Imperialists couldn't have risen in power that much...
Yet here was someone from the future telling him that it was true. How...? Had they all died?]
...ah... y-yes, the Shinsengumi are the local police force where I'm from.
Well they're really popular, history-wise. Have a lot of stories based off them.
Japan became quite a bit more... Westernized? After that. Industrialization and whatnot. Uh... man. I don't even know where to go from here. Japan became a world power during the Meiji Era?
It's very difficult to imagine all of this happening. We're still so isolated, and I've never even met a Westerner... you must know so much about the world.
I hear this place didn't even have electricity for a while, so who knows? I doubt we'd get anything beyond a connection to others in town, though. At least cell phones would be nicer than these journals.

Anything you remember would be fine, truly.

Meiji was Emperor Koumei's heir, which is where the name came from. If that helps.

But that would mean-]
...The Imperialists... they won?

So are you from, like... the Bakumatsu? With the Shinsengumi and all that?

Of course, we don't have that here in Luceti, but...

That's a shame... I'd love to see it for myself.
