[Susumu is more used to traveling via rooftops, not trees, so it's a little tricky, getting around the leaves without making noise. Still, he keeps decent pace as he follows Jay, studying him. He doesn't seem to be visibly armed, but that doesn't always mean that it's safe.]

[Jay continues to walk slowly, pondering whether to call out his stalker. Then he decides not to. He'll lead Susumu on a little longer.]

[By now Susumu's decided he doesn't like the forest. Too thick, too tricky to navigate. He's already missing the familiar and sturdy rooftops of Kyoto, and the sooner he gets back there, the better. If a bit of stalking will get him that, he won't hesitate.]

[Moro pauses, looking up into the trees in the general area where he was hiding, ears tuned and nose sniffing to try and detect the new scent, and determine whether or not he was a threat.]

[Well, it's always a pleasant surprise to find someone he can safely spy on. Susumu's going to lean on the side of caution for a while, but someone like Usopp might be safe enough to interrogate speak with. He's no Shinsengumi, but he's obviously not a ronin of the rebellion, either. Probably just a civilian. Though... why do all these people have wings, too?

So without a word - after what he deems to be a safe amount of observation - Susumu drops out of the tree to land in the bushes not far off. It would be foolish to reveal himself as a spy, after all- best to approach the man as normally as possible.]

[ Ah, so he's found yet another person walking around in the forest! Seems like there's a streak of those lately. Assuming he walks up, he gets a brainwashy cheerful greeting. ]

[Well, it is New Feather season. Susumu responds with a vaguely affirmative "hmm" sound, glancing around briefly. Still nothing familiar.] Where am I?

[it might seem a little early for anyone to be patrolling, but Sheena couldn't sleep anyway, and what would be the point of anyone being forced to wait until a better time in the morning if someone was up now? So tl;dr she's patrolling. She dresses in a ninja style of clothing (purple or not) but without visible weapons, if that makes a difference]

[Susumu has had a number of bad experiences with female ninjas, though he doesn't recognize her. He'll wait and observe her for a little while before he considers approaching. A ninja without visible weapons doesn't usually mean they're unarmed so much as they've hidden weapons somewhere. Those are the most dangerous types.]

[if he watches for long enough, he'll notice she seems to be vaguely searching for something. She also has her journal with her, so he'll get a bird's-eye view of it in use every so often. Overall it doesn't look like she's in attack mode. ...Though if there's any chance she's able to figure out she's being watched, or if he makes an unfamiliar sound? Then yeah.]

[Now what is that strange book she has? He'd found one when he awoke, but aside from his name it had held little interest for him. Reading books are much less important than learning about just situation right now.

Still... it's intriguing that she has one as well- a book that looks the same. Was her fate the same as his? Hmm...

Eventually he opts to give it a try - there's a thick, woven path through the forest he's already mapped out in his mind, so if she attacks he has an escape route - and drops down from the trees into the bushes nearby.]

[This is Derek. He has a sword strapped to his back, is in a clearing, and is doing...actually, today, he's doing regular old aikido kata rather than the weird-arse vampire hunter stuff. So, katana on back. Jeans, t-shirt that reads 'army'...barefooted...hmn.]

[Man with a katana practicing martial arts? It wouldn't seem the least bit unusual to Susumu except for two things- he had wings, and he wasn't Japanese. What was a foreigner doing with a samurai's weapon?

His curiosity is definitely piqued, so Susumu's going to try to get closer and watch him work.]

[Derek keeps practicing, seemingly completely oblivious until Susumu gets within a few yards.

At that point, Derek will pause in his stance, cocking his head as if listening...and seeming to sniff the air.

He tenses, but lowers the sword, speaking quietly]

...Friend or foe, please.

[....Did he just sniff him out. That's different.

There's a long pause, and Susumu finally responds, though he doesn't leave his tree. Not when the guy is armed, thank you very much.]
