My typical florida voting experience......

Oh how I love democracy. I was at the polls today before they opened and got into the precinct fairly quickly. Once I was inside I went to the table for them to find my name. My voter card clearly said I was to be at precinct 315. And tada..that's where I was standing. Great, right? Not so much. They couldn't find my name on their list of people ( Read more... )

I posted that it thoroughly pissed me off, and people WERE leaving the polling place, over the issue that they WROTE down our ballot numbers next to our names.

VOTING is supposed to be private, confidential, and anonymous.

yet we gave that right up when we filled out the ballot and put it in the box.

from my pov.....I Just want to friggin vote. I'll make a T-shirt to say what all I voted for. I don't care. Just find my damn name when I go to the right precinct which is printed on my card for dog's sake. It's not the people at the poll's fault. It's whoever was getting the lists together. I have been registered since March. I'm going to try again in a little while. We'll see how it goes. I'm not giving up my Kerry vote.
