I'm sorry I missed posting yesterday! There shall be two today to make up for that.

Also, happy birthday, Viggo! These are dedicated to you, not that you're likely to stumble upon this post :P

I am enjoying this very much. I am sharing the poems with my medieval re-enactment group. The bards are loving them, since two of them are gay, they are loving them even more!

Great job thanks for the share!

I'm happy it's enjoyed! It makes typing them up really worth it :D

If your bards want to look up the book themselves, it's called "Medieval Latin Poems of Male Love and Friendship," translated by Thomas Stehling, and while as far as I know, out of print, specialized libraries (such as some uni libraries) ought to have it.

The book has footnotes about the authors and the poems, so there is a tiny bit on the stories behind them in some cases. You remember the first poem, the riddle one? That was written by Ausonius whom Paulinus adresses in his letter. There are other poems by Ausonius adressed to Paulinus that I've yet to post. Ausonius was Paulinus teacher before Paulinus went on to dedicate his life to the church.
