I know exactly how you feel. I hate being spoiled and I don't understand others' enjoyment by ruining it for everyone else. I also am astonished how terrible the DW fandom is at trying to keep things spoiler free. They're terrible. I mean at least the TW comms made strong efforts to make sure others were mostly unspoiled but it's like the DW comms are just lazy. They let things through without checking if they have cuts or spoilery icons. I don't understand that. I think if you run a comm like that you have an obligation to make it as fun and fair to everyone. It's really disappointing.

I'm actually not in any general DW or TW comm; mainly because I don't want them to spoil me. I've heard often enough how impossible they are about spoilery icons that it puts me off. Urgh ( ... )

I don't watch Doctor Who but I really do understand exactly what you mean - I loathe and detest being given information ahead of time. And even worse are people who hint at things! Because as soon as my brain hears the hint it goes into overdrive trying to work out what they meant, and then it's even worse if I come to the wrong conclusion, because then I'm disappointed as well as spoiled.

Personally I'd close down IM and and email and not go anywhere as soon as any chance of spoilers arises!

I hope lots of writers sign up for the comm, but you know me, I just can't do those. They cause instant terror when I even think about them!

Yeah. Hints can be worse. I'm not sure yet, but I might not be home next Saturday, so that would help a lot! When I'm home again, I'd go and download the ep first thing anyway, and it's no problem to keep signed out of YIM until I've watched it :)

We've got a couple good writers signed up, but are hoping for more still (though Zee already said that the more writers we have, the harder the assigning will be *g*) I know you can't do these things, and that's fine. I really understand :) But you could pimp the comm in your journals *hints* and when the fics are posted, read and guess at the author of course :))

I'm right with you on this! DOWN with SPOILERS!

Hee! I don't mind them as long as I don't have to know about them! They shall live in the dark and mouldy basement where only those that want to know them dare to go! ;)
