Going through this, it's hard to believe that I'm 24. It's hard to believe I'm 24, and I don't feel like I've grown at all since I was 14. I feel young at heart, and I can't imagine myself being a "grown up

Hi!! I dooo go to John Jay. thats really awesome that you're going there! Hopefully I'll see you wandering around campus - if you want a little personal guide to the campus and stuff I'd be happy to show you around, or at least explain things... I've heard they don't give very good info on that stuff to grad students. Also, I got your text- I think I got it when I was asleep then forgot when I woke up later in the day haha. I'd like to see your new place, but I'm working Sunday night. Do you have room mates?

no room mates, but i do have 2 cats.
yeah, i have had to do much of my own orientation to the school so far, and figure out all ten thousand of their different websites. there's an orientation for my program coming up this month, and i'm hoping that will clear things up a bit. i would love it if you showed me around a bit, and maybe i'll have a better idea of what i need to be shown after this orientation.
there's some crossover b/w undergrad and grad school staff. are there any particular professors you highly recommend?
Cool that you are donating the ol' eggs! I donated (sold!) my eggs nine years ago, and I would do it again if I weren't past the cutoff age already (31, I think). Lane and I aren't having kids, so it's nice to know my bloodline continues in Southern California and she is living a healthy, fulfilling life (the parents stay in touch with me).
Happy new yea, Cara! Thanks for telling me about your experience - you didn't have crazy side effects? I haven't started the hormones yet but everyone is freaking me out with "I know someone who knows someone who..." with the side effects you can get. I'm doing mine totally anonymously, which I have mixed feelings about - but there is something nice about the fact there is a wannabe momma out there waiting for my goods and she'll be so happy if it works. We'll see how this goes!
I did have some temporary side effects during the week that I was doing the highest doses of hormones: irritability, agitation, a little weight gain, and Lane says I was aggressive and short with him. After the extraction, I was back to normal within a week.
I wish you luck! Some girls pay off their school loans by doing this throughout their 20s. It's like a career. I'm all for it.
