Carboniferous era giant spiders the size of a human head, that's what kind.

Giant prehistoric spiders are way cool - although the biggest one they found (approx 3 feet across) turned out to be more like a lobster on closer examination I believe. 50s films like 'Tarantula' are fun too - there's a great spider bit in 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' as well (and there's always Arachnaphobia - spot the stick pushing the spider at the end:p). I like spiders - they kill flies and are sooo cool.
