Back in Bogenhoffen, I was rather immature despite my age and experiences with the town guard. I always did my duty without question but I rarely went about it with absolute seriousness. So, when I offered to go into the house to investigate I did so in an almost condescending manner to Mr. I-guess-I-will-just-pray-everything-turns-out-okay. Look at me, I'm just a lowly town guard but I can tread where you cannot, how do you like those apples? Ha, ha, ha. You holy weirdo. He took it pretty well though and wished the gods to look over me as I went past the gates to enter the estate.

To be honest, the memories of what happened here are kind of jumbled so I don't remember the exact timeline. Yeah, there's probably a scrying spell to look at past events but I don't have that much arcane knowledge on the ship right now. So, let's just cover the highlights.

I walked in front of a very strange mirror that seemed to transport me into a black-and-white version of the mansion. Everything looked normal except for the fact that my body became like that of the accursed undead! I could still walk, talk, and think but my flesh was decayed and sickly looking. There was no rational explanation presented as to how this happened and no immediate solution in sight. Then, realizing that I could still think presented some hope to the situation. In the dining hall there sat a group of skeletons in rotting sets of formerly fine garments. On the dinner plate in front of each one sat a large, juicy steak. The only thing that made the steaks more unusual other than the fact they looked freshly cooked was that they were in full color which contrasted with the black and white of the world I was sucked into. After some inner debate I decided to try some of the steak. It was a really damned tasty slab of beef. Oh, after eating it my body returned to normal. And hey! The mirror on the ceiling was a portal back into the real world! Problems solved!
