So... Christmas Day is almost over. James Brown died this morning, the Queen was vaguely less gloomy than last year (God bless her) and I have yet another Nick Cave CD (vaguely gloomier than the last one). I think that pretty much sums it all up

does the queen deliver a christmas message to your country every christmas day or something? i guess the president does that for us, i wouldn't know, maybe i should watch the news.

Every freakin' Christmas the (wholely irrelevant) queen gets on screen and gives us a recap of how shitty the last year has been. Every horrific thing that happens, from a burst river to a war is declared to have been "a difficult time for us all".

From your comment I guess your president does a similar thing, yes? Is it air-clutchingly irrititating? Moreover, do they edit out the Bushisms? :D

ha, that sounds really fun and interesting! i don't think the president does a recap at the end of the year...that's sort of what the state of the union is for but that also is for saying what his agenda is for the next year but i don't really watch that either.
