So I was sitting here just thinking, candles lit and I thought of something. When I was at CC the first thing they did to create an atmosphere is lower the lights to a dim...and since then I have noticed that when any church wants to create an atmosphere they dim the lights ( Read more... )

Oh Hoskins. They don't dim the lights to create an atmosphere, they dim the lights so that you won't see them stealing the money out of your coat pocket.

the lights are lowered because even in our moments of honesty and transparency before God we don't want everyone around to be able to see us getting "real" before God... just a symptom of the american church culture... pride cometh before everything else :)
