So I've been getting a lot of questions on how Brian
proposed and he totally swept me off my feet.
:) If you're interested, here it is:
On Saturday, 3 days before the Three Year Anniversary, I
stopped by his apartment after he got back from being gone...
He'd told me he was going shopping at Fry's Electronics for
RAM... So I didnt question him too much about it. But as I
was leaving, on his table I found a piece of paper listing jewelry
stores in Indy and that got me curious... Then I remembered Fry's
is in Indy... So for a little while I was hoping that may have
been what he'd been doing. I mentionned the paper to Megan (my
roommate) and we talked about it a lot... She told me that he'd
probably just started to look and was just trying to get a feel for
what he liked and the cost and that it was a huge step... So at
that point, I realized she was right and figured I'd be waiting until
Christmas-ish... So Tuesday
rolls around and he picks me up and we went to Stables for
supper. The meal was excellent (of course) and we had a really
good time. He got me a glass of wine, and nice steak and finished
off the meal with creme brulee. It was great. Part way
through supper he handed me a card which had 3 pictures of a fish tank
in it. I remembered he'd asked about what I thought of pufferfish
and fiddler crabs and how well Elvis (my beta) took to other fish, so I
realized that was the anniversary present. :) I was really
excited because I like fish and it was really cool. So any
thoughts of a ring were gone. So after we got back to my
apartment from supper and stopping at the mall for his present (a
blender for smoothies), I was a bit surprised. The apartment was
normal when I'd left, but when we returned it was empty and had
tealight candles lit everywhere, there had to have been over 20
going... In addition to that, Megan had spread rose petals all
over the floor between the door and the kitchen table. It was
really pretty. And it smelled so nice with the warm candles and rose
petals. I was amazed. I'd read about stuff like that, but
never expected to have it done for me! So anyhow, on
the kitchen table was the fish tank. It was all set up and Elvis was
swimming around in it. The lights were pretty dim, so it took a
bit of time for me to find him. So I turn around to thank Brian
and he's still looking at the fish tank. So I turn back and am
like, yep, its great... he's still looking at the fish tank, so
I'm starting to look around a bit more and notice the pretty blue
stones at the bottom, and see Elvis at the top, and then I see the
ceramic shark. He's pretty big, so I'd noticed him earlier, but
then I saw something glitter in his mouth. He said I started to
lean forward toward the tank, I dont remember that part, all I remember
was being amazed that there was a ring in there. So I turned
around and started hugging him a lot and he scolds me to get the ring
out. So I get it out and when I turn around, he was already down
on one knee. It blew me away. Obviously I said yes.
:D What girl could resist it?
So right now I'm still on cloud 9 as Daddy keeps telling
me. :D I think we're going to try for a wedding in mid-July
of 2006. Not much time, I know. But I think it'll be
fine. I've pretty much put Mom in charge of details, and I'll
just make sure my main priorities are alright. Like having all of
my family and friends. and good food. and music I can dance
to. and maybe a square dancing song (but dont tell Brian, cuz
I've got to get him to marry me first so I can make him dance it w/
me!). It'll be in Ft Wayne (my hometown) at my church...
The ring is gorgeous. I love it. It's white gold
with a round sparkly solitaire. The setting is cool because the
band kinda splits into two and cradles the diamond in between the
prongs. I'm totally going to fail some classes though, because
I'll just be like, what a pretty ring. and then forget I'm in
class and have to actually learn things. how silly! :D
But I couldnt be happier, and I dont think Caruso's regretting asking me (yet). :D I'm so excited!!!
