I seem to have lost time. It used to be that I could keep a tidy house, read, and keep up with my LJ, but now that all seems impossible ( Read more... )

Sometimes I think that the time speeding up as you age thing is why people can commit to jobs or relationships at all. Like, sure, I'll stick in this job fora few years. That's the equivalent of like 4 months of age 22 time.

That is the absolute truth. Whenever anyone asks me how long I've lived in my house I'm always like, "oh, two years..." But it's really been like six. I've been at my job for three and half years, which feels sort of like six months. Obama's only been president for like two weeks.

Sometimes I like to let my mind rot!

Really it's that I like to find interesting shows and read them like a text of the culture. Dickens was the Aaron Spelling of his day afterall.

Lack of work internet is a weird timesuck - taking in a superficial catch-up on news and other people's stuff when I get home in one big chunk leaves me brain-whooshed and unable to generate new words of my own. But I've missed your regular long entires even tho they always leave me kinda homesick.

Exactly! It does mush up my brain! I'm watching The State of The Union Address. Obama's being folksy and I can't decide if I like it, or if it's weirding me out. Of course, even at his folksiest, he's so smart.

English Country Dancing is so good. I never got better, which was frustrating, but it was fun.

Also, my internet lives next to my bed--you know, ON THE NIGHTSTAND--and it is a big drain.
