It is very surreal that you've been married a year! Those all sound like nice anniversary activities. Hang in there, you'll soon feel like it's home. Or not, and then you guys can move back here ;)

I always said that if you teleported a bunch of 'Muricans into Delft and teleported all the Dutch people out, they'd oo and ah for about 3 days and then the complaints would start and never stop. After a month there would be blood in the streets from the riots. I have no idea what the Dutch would be doing, probably complaining incessantly too. I don't think they'd riot though.

As far as telling people the truth? Are you insane? Don't lose a vital part of your humanity - lie. It's what humans do best, they lie. To tell the truth would be awkward, sort of like dropping a turd into a punchbowl. And nobody likes turds in their punchbowls, neither do they like hearing the truth.
