She was so beautiful, all dark hair and wide eyes, standing there in the kitchen where the late afternoon light was the best. What a loving and beautiful portrait of your mother, and a fantastic tribute to first, her defiance, then her persistence, and finally her success at becoming who she wanted to be. It is an inspiration.
