I filled out this survey last year... it's almost like a tradition.
1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before? Became an editor on the school newspaper. It was fun at times and hard at times.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don't ever do the resolution thing.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? No.
4. Did anyone close to you die? No.
5. What countries did you visit? None.
6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? Peace of mind, maybe?
7. What date(s) from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Aug 1st, the day I started my job. Spring break was pretty awesome too.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting straight A's last semester, baby. Ahh I still can't believe it!
9. What was your biggest failure? Sometimes I don't handle stress and pressure as well as I could. i also don't manage my time very well and i always could have helped out on the newspaper a little more.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I think it was this year that I found out my digestive system doesn't want to do its job anymore. The doctors say I have a mix of lactose intolerance, acid reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome. Lovely. I cried in the parking lot outside the office when I found out, which needless to say was not my proudest moment ever.
11. What was the best thing you bought? All my clothing! Seriously, I love them all like children. And gifts for friends and family.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Erin freakin' Sullivan's. She's just adorable. ;) And my parents, for finally giving me a break.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? The editor in chief of the newspaper could be a real douche sometimes. And honestly, my own, sometimes.
14. Where did most of your money go? Gas or clothing probably take the cake. Then food.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? I was excited about the change that happened during fall semester, even though I knew it was going to be hard. i was excited about my new job, my new editing position, and new classes.
16. What song will always remind you of 2005? Anything by the killers. Either mr. brightside or somebody told me.
17.Compared with last year are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? same as i've been for the past 4 years.
iii. richer or poorer? richer because i actually tried hard to save money for once. it kind of worked.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Relax and spent more time with friends.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Worried about stupid things and pick unneccessary fights.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? I spent christmas at home with my family.
22. Did you fall in love in 2005? No.
23. How many one-night stands? 4765 and counting....
24. What was your favorite TV program? Oh, I have many. Laguna Beach, Gilmore Girls, The OC, and Desperate Housewives are my favorites.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? No.
26. What was the best book you read? Harry Potter, for sure!
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? A bunch of random indie bands cause I'm cool like that.
28. What did you want and get? A job, eventually. My editor position.
30. What was your favorite film of this year? Harry Potter and I can't remember any others... yikes.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 20. My mom was out of the country and my dad got me everything I wanted.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? A better job, maybe? Better weather. Haha.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? I try to dress cute, but most of the time I just wear jeans and t shirts.
34. What kept you sane? My friends and the free time I spent wisely.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? I will always love Ewan McGregor, he's like a given. Jude Law (though he's such a cheating bastard)! I also love funny guys like Dane Cook and Will Ferrell.
36. What political issue stirred you the most? The fact that Bush got reelected.
37. Who did you miss? I miss the my friends I never see! Sara, Kristen and Heather, come back to me !! And all the women in the Human Ecology department. They were wonderful.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Ashley, Abby and Katie, some of the other editors at the Echo. They are the coolest girls I will probably ever meet.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005: Embrace change.
