Saturday night we watched "The Boogeyman."
They 80's might have been the Golden era of horror films.
It was cheesy, but I liked it.
It was psychologically scary, the same way The Shining is.
The hotel in The Shining continues to function as a ski resort in Oregon.
I keep having nightmares, or at least pseudo-nightmares about Oregon,

To kill time, we ventured to Powell’s books, quite possibly the best bookstore on the planet.  Books of all colors.  Outside is a bike rack, paying tribute to various books about bikes.  One says, “Curious George rides a bike.”  Uncoincidentally, I bought a very cute Curious George calendar inside the store, equipped with 60 stickers!  Also ( Read more... )

In Illinoise, they took us to the Second City comedy club.  The show was called, "Between Barack and a Hard Place."  It didn't have all that much to do with Barack, but it was hilarious, and the abundance of school-sponsored "Toxic Lakes," Strawberry Daiquiris, and beer helped.  I really want Barack Obama to win the White House.  I didn't realize ( Read more... )

  
Tonight we picked out some outfits (yeah, so what?) for my interviews-- mostly striped ties with v-neck sweaters.  I'm grateful, nervous and excited.  I've enjoyed dressing up since I was a boy.  Around the age of eight, I went with my dad on many of his trips ranging from Schenectedy New York to ___________ Tennessee, raising support at PCA ( Read more... )
