It's called materia, but yeah. It's basically crystalized mako that formed near an element, well if these are natural materia anyway... if they're lab-grown it's kinda the same process but controlled.

I'm no expert in it, but it's probably not quite as strong as the kind grown on Gaia... I could try to teach you anyway. No harm in learnin' how to use somethin' useful.
