I'm doing okay with my $20 tiny-grill, but a while back my family bought a Fiesta grill. It took quite a while to assemble, but once it was done, it performed admirably. We haven't had any problems with it in the ten years since we bought it, other having to replace the burners once (they wear out eventually).
A plus is that they're cheap, so you can get a slightly fancier model for your money.
Christy and I bought a thermos grill about 5 years ago at Lowes for $149. It's still with us after crisscrossing the country! I'd go to Home Depot and get a decent Char-broil grill for $150 or so. My father-in-law bought one recently and it works great.
Here's one you'll find at the Depot: Char-Broil Quikset 8000 Series 40,000 BTU Gas Grill
