okay...I nearly skipped past this because..anyway...

this was really excellent...I love this use of the third person and I can just feel his ache, that pain of knowing you should walk away and you can't...and I love that we never hear anything from Sacha...no words or thoughts or anything to reassure him or us that anything in Robbie's head isn't real...

Really Excellent.

I'm glad you liked it! These are two American players who are kind of on the edges of the national team picture. They've apparently been best friends for years and years.

I think I say the same thing about all your fic, but this is just achingly gorgeous. The writing is lovely and the story is beautiful and bittersweet, and even without caring much about either of them, I still love it.
