Since we started
crossedgenres, I've told myself a number of times that I should blog the various daily minutiae involved with running the magazine. I thought I might like to have it for future reference, so countless issues from now I can look back and see what foolish fools we've been. But I haven't thus far gotten the motivation to do so.
Is anyone interested in reading about the day-to-day running of a small startup SF/F magazine, struggling to make it all work? Is it something that might be educational for those who might choose to try themselves, or for aspiring writers to see some of the logic behind the decisions we make?
Obviously there are some things (like submission details) that would never show up here, but I'd write about all the little things, like the selection and editing processes, prepping the various formats, how communications work between us and writers/artists (no names, of course), and running the whole thing on a shoestring budget. Sound intriguing to anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
