Today has been one month since my only dear niece, 7-year-old Emily Jean Phillips, lost her life in a tragic car accident on the Niagara Street QEW on-ramp in St. Catharines. I'm sorry for your loss Mel. If some good comes from this tragic event it is the fact that the MTO has admitted that it will not allow that ramp to be used for testing of new drivers and senior citizens doing their driving test as of the beginning of this month. But it saddens me that it took loss of your Emily to have the government wake up about this dangerous on-ramp.

I too lost someone close to me, my Father. Whenever I become unhappy or depressed I can see him looking back at me in a store windows that I pass. Knowing he's a part of me now in spirit. And seeing that the older I get, I still have his good looks and european charm. His spirit will not allow me to become unhappy or unloved.

That was so tragic, and I had no idea she was your neice until you mentioned it quite a while later. :( I'm so sorry for you and your family.

oh my god mel, i didn't know she was your neice. I was driving when that accident happened. I always hated getting on the highway there. Poor poor little girl :(
