My car nearly killed me coming home from school. It decided it'd be funny if the breaks stopped working, hillarious, right? I could have my break pedal to the ground without much stopping. Thank god for pumping breaks but even that barely did a thing. Twice I almost rearended someone. The second time I had to swerve off the road a little bit

Dude it sounds like you lost a brake line, probably a metal line rotted through. Check your master cylinder(right in front or the steering wheel iunder the hood). if it's low and you put fluid in it you'll know where the leak is. The rear lines are gonna run along the driver's side and the front ones will go straight down and split to their respective sides. If you want i can take a peek at it i don't know when though.
