A fruitful trip to...the bank? These days?

Today I went to the bank (something I almost never do) to get a cashier's check.

The teller told me there was a $8 fee, but that we qualify for a much better checking account that would allow us to avoid the fee. In addition, we'd get free checks, some number (infinite?) of free ATM withdrawals from other banks' ATMs, and a bunch of other good

I hate you and your home-owning ways. Why don't you live in the city in an unaffordable closet that you rent like normal folks?

Well, if it makes you feel any better, we still need to figure out the most cost-effective way to fix our roof, the insulation needs to be improved (Just had an energy audit to help us figure out why I'm f'ing cold all the time), and half the year snow removal is a pain in the ass and the other half of the year landscaping/gardening is a huge pain in the ass.
