Still behind on my entries.  I'm not online as much over the weekends, as my time is more devoted to other ventures.  Anyway.  Here we go.

Day 3 - What show from your childhood would you love to bring back? This is a difficult question to answer.  There are a lot of shows that I enjoyed in my younger years.  Not sure I'd love to have any of them ( Read more... )

I loved so many of these shows. Especially Scarecrow & Mrs. King. Did you know that it was created by Brad Buckner and Eugenie Ross-Leming?

I did not know King was created by Buckner and Leming. That show was a very light-hearted, no real meat kinda of show. It was fun to watch for the banter between the two main characters, but as far as depth? It didn't have a lot of it, which is Bucker/Leming's forte. When they were writing for SPN, they lacked the ability to really provide depth and meaning, etc into the script, which is why was such a perfect show for them, IMHO.

They wrote some of the season 1 episodes and I think they left by the time season 2 began. Yes, the banter was fun (and it had some meaningful moments) but didn't have a lot of depth. Enjoyable to watch for what it was.

Exactly. It was enjoyable to watch for what it was. Sometimes its nice to just turn on the TV and watch something fun, not too serious, but has an interesting storyline. So much lately, shows have to have some political meaning, or have a lot of violence, sex, or something in between. With this show, no meaning behind anything, just enjoyable entertainment, which is what most of those shows were during that time.

I smiled when you mentioned Emergency. :) Though I didn't grow up with it, my Mom introduced me to it, and I'm definitely a fan. It's one of the shows I write fan fiction for.

I wish classic Warner Brothers cartoons could come back too. Modern takes just aren't the same.

I loved Emergency. Had a HUGE crush on Randolph Mantooth. Still enjoy following him, although he hasn't really been around. Cool that you write fanfic for that show.

I love it how that show was basically the Father of all the similar shows that followed after it. The few that come to mind are 'Third Watch' which was really good, Tacoma PD, Rescue Me, Nightwatch, 911, 911-Lonestar, and Chicago fire. Compared to today's shows, Emergency was fairly simplistic, but yet, it was the beginning era of that type of emergency medicine. I watch the show every now and then, as it plays on one of the streaming channels in my service on Saturdays.

And you are so right about modern cartoons. They just aren't the same as what we grew up. No comparison. We had great cartoons. Too bad they don't make them now like they did then.
