Hah. My answer, if I were the teacher, would have been a lot less funny. Mark each student who didn't wear appropriate footwear as "absent", and refuse them entry to the shop.

If it were students that actaully were enrolled at the college we would have sent them home and not allow them in the studio untill they had appropriate shoes. These students(high schoolers), were here for a week long jewelry workshop, and it was their last day of class. They were fine in following the rules during the week but some how today they all figured it was "okay" to no wear the right shoes. The professor lectured them about in during their class, and if was in our power to send them home my Shop Manager would have.

That's fabulous! We're not so strict on shoes at the college I attend, but I'm a fan of fully enforcing safety ruels.

As am I. It's sad that I have developed the habit of looking at everyones feet at the studio when I am doing my rounds. I am known as the mean tech becaused I have a hawks eyes of catching people not following the rules. one of my biggest peeves is people not tying their hair back when using the flex shaft. People just don't learn and we already had two instances of girls getting a part of their hair ripped out of their skulls because of that. ::sigh::

Heh, that's funny. I bet they all had really sweaty feet after that... ew.

There is no way they would have been allowed in the workshops at my college - anyone, including members of staff, who isn't wearing appropriate footwear gets thrown out..

I'm sure they did, some of them tried to get away by just putting their feet in the bags and shuffling around, but I told them they had to tie it around their ankles. : P

Yeah, it's getting there, right now I am still trying to get those stupid mules shoes/ ballet slipper shoes banned from the studio.
