think because they're fun!

how big do you want it to be
where would you put it?

do you want a round one or hexagonal one?
or a square one with turrets...

so many choices

Not sure I actually have anywhere to put one. The rooms in my house are fairly tiny.

Something domed/towery... I'd know it when I see it, and you know when I see it I could never afford it anyway, but a girl can wish. :)

If you don't want to put actual birds in it, the iron ones live just fine outside.

Ah, true would make a lovely terrarium type of object as well.

I want one, too, but I want to put fairies or gremlins into it instead of birds.

Not sure mine would have birds either... Hm.

I want one people size but I'm odd like that. Sort of like a solarium.

you're a little quirky. :) but a solarium sounds great. i've always wanted a green house with a hot tub in it.

I like my friends to be of the "odd" variety. :)

Actually, some people who live near me have something like this in their front yard along with a lot of other cool stuff. It's a gazebo but it is made of metal and is shaped like a giant Victorian birdhouse. And yes, I drool over it every time I pass the property!

um.. because they're AWESOME?
as if you need another reason :-)

Eric wanted to buy an old TUBA at an antique/junk shop last year because it "looked cool" - that makes bird cage sound downright practical!!!!

I was looking at a vintage scale I bought on ebay and was thinking how odd I was for buying a scale that isn't accurate or useful for anything... just looks cool. Good thing we don't have any great flea markets here or I'd constantly bring home Junk. Or is Junque the right term for artful Junk? hehe.

My FIL bought an old scale at an auction. It's an old feed store scale, I forget how many hundred pounds it reads. It's huge and ancient. He wanted to put it in the living room, but he would have had to shore the floor up first. And it's already a strong floor!
