So yesterday was my first 75-mile ride. I keep saying that to myself out loud. 75 MILES. Craziness ( Read more... )

Look at you! WOWSER! If you need reminding, you are GORGEOUS and I am so in awe of all the hard work you've done/are doing.

I need to get back on the WW (at home anyway) wagon. I've gained a bit, not alot, but enough that I need to pay attention so I don't backslide anymore. I'd like to get some pounds off before my trip in Oct.

Now if only I can round up the motivation.

Love the shirt you're wearing! Is it flat where you live? I am just curious because where I love it's all hills/mountains and bike riding in that is impossible for me.

Aw, thanks Le.

Yeah I keep going up and down too. It's hard to stay in one place but you've done such a great job at the maintenance, so I have "faith" in you (har)

It's VERY flat here. I have to go to the suburbs to find hills and most of them are just very gently rolling. This is one of the reasons I signed up for the horribly hilly hundreds ride. Will be good hill training even if it does scare the pants off me. :)

HA! If you lived in my 'hood, you'd die. I live on a 45 degree (at least!) hill, half way up. It's brutal. If it sneauxs here on occasion, people try to come up in their cars, get to my street on their way up and bail off onto it. Not rider friendly, that's for sure. If it were flat here, I'd consider getting a bike, but I know there's no way (especially now with my MS) that I would ride here.

Too bad because I used to bike like crazy everywhere when I lived on the prairies.

No where close by you could drive? I guess you could get an indoor bike but that's not quite as relaxing.

Fwiw, I ended up w/Orca tri-shorts NOT padded at all and found them infinitely more comfortable than standard bike shorts. I find that bike shorts just hold moisture (water/sweat) and end up w/some nasty crotch rot. Okay. Maybe that was TMI. lol

Kudos on all your training breakthroughs. Sounds like fun!

Heh, the name Orca makes me cringe for tight fitting clothing.

I'm just going to hit a few stores and try on whatever I can get my hands on. I might not end up getting padded shorts the one pair I do have (Velowear) irritate my girly parts, but they are also mens shorts I think.

Yah. I realized after posting that Orca are pretty true to size. There's a brand that is women specific ... argh! I can't for the life of me remember the name ... that is supposed to have a really good tri-short. Dang. Now that name is gonna bug me all day!

you look great! But I can't believe you are riding that long without padding. but then Jen has a good point about them holding moisture. keep on rockin'!

I have natural padding built in, so it's not as bad as it sounds. Now if I was all muscle/bone I imagine it would hurt more. Plus I guess by now I've broken in the backside a bit.

The mere thought of biking 75 miles makes me feel wobbly! You're awesome.
