Here is my subjective list of the best movies and albums of the past decade. I was going to do one for books, but having ten trash fiction novels on the list might have been embarrassing

No, I'm not embarrassed by liking albums that have universal critical acclaim and have sold tens of millions.

I suspect you haven't even listened to most of the albums on the list yet you seem pretty brazen in passing judgment.

Coldplay - Parachutes (Listened to it. Is a good album. Not in my top 10)
Brian Wilson - Smile (Listened to it after you kept talking about it. Was good but not in my top 10)
Dolly Parton - Those Were the Days (This isn't her decade, if she ever had one)
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells 2003 (The original tubular bells album.......
I give up. I've listened to most of these artists, but can't be assed mounting an argument against your tens of millions argument.

Why should you be embarrassed by your favourite books when you're not embarrassed by your favourite movies or albums?

I guess it's not so much that I'd be embarrassed, it's more that I don't feel I've read enough to justify a list.

Huh. I've read a lot more novels than I have listened to complete albums. In this age of iTunes, I tend to cherrypick songs unless it's an artist I "collect".

Zlatko, I had to list my top 5 books for some meme thing and had to dip into children's books for at least 2 of them. Maybe 3.

Exactly. And I'd also be reluctant to include books I was forced to read as part of studies.
