Yuletide Letter
Dear Yuletide Writer,
So, I never know what to write in these letters. My plan is to babble on about the fandoms that I love and why I love them in the hopes that it will provide further amusement understanding.
Request 1: NCIS: Los Angeles, G. Callen. I am fascinated by Callen's backstory! It's so mysterious and filled with hinted-at angst. I would love a story where we get to see more of that. And if it happens to include some Callen/Sam I would love that too ;)
So, I have been an NCIS freak for years, and when they made NCIS LA I squeed. Especially as I have had a huge crush on Chris O'Donnell for YEARS. I picked Callen for that reason, and he's definitely my favorite. This doesn't mean I don't like the other characters (I'm also particularly fond of Hetty, and her relationship with Callen, and Eric), but my desire for fic is my desire for more Callen! And he's seriously backstory gold. Orphan! No first name! WOOBIE UPON WOOBIE! I guess I would be happiest with a gen fic, but IF you feel you must go a shipping angle, please let it be Callen/Sam or Callen/Eric? The boys are just too cute together.
Request 2: Jim Butcher, The Dresden Files, Thomas Raith. Thomas is my FAVORITE character. I think his story is fascinating--his childhood, his relationship with Justine, his relationship with Harry (especially in the Backup novella).I am greedy for more. I'd be happiest with a Thomas-POV story but I would take pretty much anything.
This is a standard Yuletide request for me. Love, love, love The Dresden Files and Butcher is MEAN and doesn't give Thomas the attention he deserves. This would be another backstory request, but I would also be happy with Thomas, being a sexually malleable creature, out on the prowl and feeding, or on an adventure with Harry--or on a not-adventure. He's just so fucking complex, and I love him.
Request 3: Skins, Emily Fitch/Freddie Mclair/JJ Jones/James Cook. I fell in love with the Season Three cast, and I seem to be in a minority :( I would love something exploring the INCREDIBLE LOVE that the three boys (JJ, Freddie, Cookie) have for each other, OR an Emily-centric story about her and Naomi.
Not a request for an orgy, although, hey, if you want to ;). Everyone got into Skins way before me, and I missed the first two seasons. But I did watch season three and adored the dynamic between the boys so much. They're all so broken in their own ways, and yet love each other through that dysfunction. Emily was my favorite girl in this season as well, and I would love to see more attention paid to her. Girlsex desired but not demanded. I think Naomi and Emily have the sex part down--it's the nonsex parts that are hard for them, so something that explored the nonsex part of their relationship (or their struggle with it) would make me incredibly happy.
Margaret Atwood - Oryx and Crake series, Crake/Snowman. I know this is obscure, but I have to ask for it on just the slim chance that it might happen. Glenn (Crake)/Jimmy (Snowman). If there's a way to read this book where Glenn is NOT in love with Jimmy, I don't know it. Everything he does to protect him just blows my mind. I'd love to be given a story about them as teenagers, or as an older Crake reflecting on their relationship.
This is a new fandom for me, and I'm not all that familiar with it, so I guess low expectations are a good thing in this case? I also should clarify--I haven't read the new book, and I won't have by the time Yuletide comes out, so this MUST NEEDS be a fic only with the first book of the series in mind. No spoilers please! Other than that, I think the prompt is pretty self-explanatory. As long as it's about Glenn & Jimmy, or Crake & Jimmy, I'll be happy.
In conclusion--you rock, and I hope we can be friends at the end of this.
