Ahhhhh hell.

It is exactly that slow painstaking patience, that ability to observe, and that skill at meeting something at the level it was able to respond to that I gave up even trying to write about, so thank you for encapsulating it so very well. Attention, care, and knowing those cats (or that woods) in every detail.

i am so sorry. i never knew of her but i'll go look at the website. and lord, i understand that sometimes it is very hard to hang onto the notion of continuing to slog along.

Thank you for writing this. I knew Abby in person, and she was just the same as you write here. She was prickly and fierce and loyal and loving and patient and I wish we had been better at holding on to her. Her loss has torn a hole in my universe.
