I read an article or a quote or something from Rowling saying she didn't want to talk about her religious beliefs because she didn't want people reading that sort of thing into the book. RIGHT. HOW CAN YOU NOT READ THAT INTO IT? Um, Dumbledore sends his only begotten Harry to destroy Satan Voldemort. Harry goes to Hogwarts where the students assume he's come to liberate them from their Roman oppressors, which he didn't have any real intention of on account of his higher quest of vanquishing evil from the world. For complicated reasons this requires him to willingly sacrifice himself, have his enemies jeer at his corpse, become a martyr, and then be resurrected to save the day. Rowling must be wiccian.
