The books I read in 2010.
Chronic City by Jonathan Lethem was my favourite. I was intoxicated with it the whole way through.
Tall Man: The Death of Doomadgee by Chloe Hooper is excellent non-fiction about the death in custody of a young Indigenous man on Palm Island (Queensland) and the police culture protecting its own in the wake of it.

How did you find Zero History? Gibson was a standout for me this year... he's painfully contemporary, but alway seems to write about whatever I am obsessing about.

The Frankie aesthetic frustrates me too, these days. Also, I noticed that a lot of their stories are syndicated from other publications (and aren't necessarily local).
